Ala khutah

The Ala Khutah (translated as "In His Footsteps") project is a monumental initiative launched by Saudi Arabia to retrace and revive the historic Hijrah route—the journey taken by Prophet Muhammad ﷺ and Abu Bakr Al-Siddiq from Makkah to Madinah.
While Masaar Badr focuses on the specific site of the first battle, Ala Khutah is a much larger geographic and spiritual endeavor spanning roughly 470 kilometers.

  • The project is designed to be both a physical pilgrimage and a high-tech educational experience.
The Route: It covers 41 historical landmarks, starting from the Cave of Thawr in Makkah and ending at the Quba Mosque in Madinah.

  • Immersive Stations: The path includes 14 interactive stations and 5 key "storytelling" hubs that use Augmented Reality (AR) and sensory technology to explain the events of the migration.

  • Hospitality: To accommodate the target of 1 million annual visitors, the project features 8 lodging stations (designed to mimic the Prophet's original stops), over 30 restaurants, and 50 retail outlets.

  • Digital Integration: A dedicated Ala Khutah app allows users to track their journey in real-time, book guided tours, and access historical documentation.
